As the number of people recognized for work-related mental disorders caused by overwork and job stress has reached a record high, a nationwide telephone consultation service is being held, where lawyers and others provide free advice on issues such as long working hours and harassment in the workplace.
この相談会は過労死の問題に取り組む弁護士のグループ、「過労死弁護団」が毎年この時期に開き、都内の法律事務所には開始直後から次々と電話が寄せられました。
This consultation meeting is held every year around this time by a group of lawyers working on the issue of death from overwork, called the Karoshi Lawyers Group, and as soon as it started, phone calls began pouring into law offices in Tokyo.
このうち、知人が亡くなったという男性からは、「長時間労働をさせられ、給料も長期間支払われないまま去年秋に亡くなった。
Of these, a man whose acquaintance had died said, He was forced to work long hours and passed away last autumn without receiving his salary for a long time.

厚生労働省によりますと、仕事の強いストレスが原因でうつ病などの精神障害になり労災と認められた人は、令和5年度が883人と過去最多となりました。
According to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the number of people who developed mental disorders such as depression due to severe work-related stress and were recognized as having work-related injuries reached a record high of 883 in fiscal year 2023.
「過労死弁護団」の幹事長、玉木一成弁護士は、「人手不足が続き厳しい環境の中で、長時間労働やハラスメントが多発している。
