バッドランドの犬は、吠えるどころか噛み付きます。
Badland dogs don't just bark, they bite!
バッドランドでは、木でさえも意地悪です。
In Badland, even the trees are mean.
更にバッドランドでは、毎日天気が悪いのです。
Furthermore, in Badland, the weather is bad every day.
ある日ミスターグッドが、風で飛んで来た帽子を拾ってあげると、
One day, when Mr. Good picked up a hat that had been blown over by the wind,
「私の帽子を返しなさい！」と怒られました。
he was scolded, "Give my hat back!"
またある日、荷物を運ぶのを手伝おうとしたら、
Another day again, when he tried to help move some baggage,
今度は、「泥棒、あっちへ行って！」と言われました。
this time, he was accused, "Go away, thief!"
バッドランドでは人に親切をしようとすると、いつもこんな具合です。
When he tries to be nice to people in Badland, it's always like this.
不幸なミスターグッドは、どうすれば幸せになれるか？
What can unfortunate Mr. Good do to be able to be happy?
散歩をしながら考えることにしました。
He decided to think about it while taking a walk.
答えがなかなか見つからなくて、とても長い時間歩きました。
He walked for a very long time, rather unable to find an answer.
やがてミスターグッドは、
Eventually, Mr. Good
太陽がさんさんと輝いていることに気が付きました。
notices that the sun is shining brightly.
バッドランドではあり得ないことです。
Something impossible in Badland.
「すみません、ここはどこでしょうか？」
"Excuse me, where is this place?"
「ここはグッドランドですよ」
"This is Goodland."
ミスターグッドは、ゴミを見つけたのでゴミ箱に捨てました。
Mr. Good found some rubbish, so he threw it into the rubbish bin.
すると、「ありがとう」と言われました。
When he does, he was told, "Thank you."
ミスターグッドは、これまでの人生で、
In all of Mr. Good's life so far,
「ありがとう」って言われるのが初めてだったので、とても喜びました。
this was the first time he was told "Thank you" and he was very happy.
今では、ミスターグッドはグッドランドに住み、
Now, Mr. Good stays in Goodland.
人々に親切なことをしながら、幸せに暮らしています。
He lives happily while doing nice things to others.
でも、水たまりにだけは用心しています。
But, he's only careful of water puddles.
あのバッドランドの水たまりは、一生忘れられないみたいです。
Seems like he won't forget the Badland water puddles for life!
