NTTは約645億円を投じてNECの株式を4.8％取得し、光信号で処理する新たな通信技術や5G基地局などの通信設備を共同で開発します。
NTT will invest about 64.5 billion yen to buy 4.8% of NEC's shares, jointly develope new communication technology for handling optical signals and communication devices such as 5G base stations.
5Gの基地局を巡りは中国のファーウェイなど海外勢のシェアが大きく、今回の提携によって世界に対抗したい考えです。
About 5G base stations, foreign companies like Huawei in China occupy a large market share and they want to compete with the world through this partnership.
