北アフリカのモロッコで発生したマグニチュード6.8の地震で、これまでに2012人が死亡しました。　
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Morocco in North Africa and has so far killed 2,012 people.
USGS（アメリカ地質調査所）によりますと、日本時間9日午前7時すぎ、モロッコ中部を震源とする地震がありました。　
According to the USGS (United States Geological Survey), an earthquake occurred in central Morocco shortly after 7 a.m. Japan time on the 9th.
地震の規模を示すマグニチュードは6.8で、震源の深さはおよそ18.5キロと推定されています。　
The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.8 magnitude and the epicenter was estimated to be at a depth of about 18.5 km.
ロイター通信はこれまでに2012人が死亡し、2059人が負傷したと伝えました。　
Reuters reported that 2,012 people were killed and 2,059 were injured.
震源地に最も近い大都市のマラケシュなどでは、多くの住民が屋外で夜を過ごしたほか、世界遺産に登録されている旧市街ではモスクの塔が崩れたということです。　
In Marrakech, the largest city closest to the epicenter, many residents spent the night outdoors and a Muslim minaret in the Old City, a World Heritage Site, collapsed.
外務省は現時点では日本人の被害は確認されていないとしています。
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said no Japanese are confirmed to be affected at this time.
