自転車のヘルメットを着用しない状態での死亡事故が相次ぐ埼玉県で、高校生らがヘルメットの着用を呼び掛けました。
In Saitama Prefecture, where many fatal bicycle accidents have occurred due to people not wearing helmets, high school students have called on people to wear helmets.

約1000人の生徒がいる埼玉県熊谷市の熊谷西高校では、高校生や警察官らが通学する生徒らに向けてヘルメットの着用を呼び掛けました。　
At Kumagaya Nishi High School in Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture, where there are about 1,000 students, high school students and police have urged students to wear helmets to school.
髪型が崩れることが気になるなどの理由でヘルメットを着用しない高校生が多いということで、生徒らは事故による大きなけがを防ぐためにもヘルメットの着用が大切だと訴えました。　
Many high school students do not wear helmets because they are worried about damaging their hairstyles, so they emphasize the importance of wearing helmets to avoid serious injury in an accident.
警察によりますと、埼玉県では去年、自転車が絡む事故で23人が死亡していて、その全員がヘルメットを着用していなかったということです。
According to police, last year 23 people died in bicycle-related accidents in Saitama Prefecture and all were not wearing helmets.
