静岡県小山町の敷地5.7ヘクタールに完成したのは、ノルウェーの「プロキシマー・シーフード」による日本で初めてのアトランティックサーモン養殖施設です。
今月中旬、幼魚の第一陣が大型水槽に移され、4キロから5キロまで育てる作業が始まりました。
富士山の水資源を生かした人工海水を使用して水温や水質を管理し、安定した生産が見込めるということです。
すしや刺し身で人気のアトランティックサーモンは、国内の消費が伸びていて、この施設からは大手商社・丸紅を通じ、来年度まず2500トンが秋口から出荷される予定です。
