Honda and Korea's LG have formed a joint venture to manufacture batteries for electric vehicles in North America.
投資総額は5600億円規模になるとみられています。　
The total investment is expected to be in the order of 560 billion yen.
13日、ホンダとLGは電気自動車に搭載するリチウムイオン電池を製造するため、合弁会社を設立したと発表しました。

ホンダの主力工場があるアメリカ・オハイオ州で2025年の供給を目指し、バッテリー製造から電気自動車の組み立てまで一貫して生産できる体制を整えます。　
Aiming to supply the product in 2025 in Ohio, the U.S., where Honda's main plant is located, they will establish a system capable of integrated production from battery manufacturing to assembly of electric vehicles.
アメリカでは、インフレ抑制法によってメイドインアメリカの電気自動車は税金が控除されるなど、EV市場の拡大が見込まれています。　
In the United States, the electric vehicle market is expected to expand due to tax deductions for US-made electric vehicles due to inflation control laws.
こうしたことを背景にホンダは、GM＝ゼネラル・モーターズやソニーと共同開発に乗り出すなど、EVシフトが加速しています。　
Against this backdrop, Honda is accelerating its electric vehicle transition, such as embarking on a development partnership with GM = General Motors and Sony.
新工場の建設を含めて投資総額は44億ドル、5600億円ほどになるとみられます。
Total investment, including the construction of the new factory, is expected to be $4.4 billion, or 560 billion yen.
