最初の感染者が確認されたのは1月下旬とされていますが、その前から感染が始まっていた可能性があります。
現地メディアによりますと、去年12月、肺炎のためパリ近郊の病院に入院した40代の男性患者の検体を改めて検査したところ、新型コロナウイルスの感染が確認されたということです。
検体は去年12月27日に採取されて保存されていました。
男性はその後、退院しています。
中国への渡航歴はありませんでしたが、男性の妻が空港の近くで働いていて、中国人と接点があったということです。
フランスで最初の感染者が確認されたのは1月24日でしたが、それよりも前から感染が始まっていた可能性が指摘されています。
