ゆっくりと渦を巻き、空と地上をつなぐほどの大きな竜巻。
警戒のために現場へ向かう消防車と比べてみても、その巨大さは異様です。
カナダ西部のアルバータ州カルガリー近郊で1日、巨大な竜巻が発生しました。
現地メディアによりますと、少なくとも住宅など12棟が竜巻に巻き込まれて倒壊し、そのうち5棟が全壊したということです。
今のところ死者や負傷者は出ていません。
1日は「カナダ・デー」と呼ばれる建国記念日でしたが、首都オタワでも竜巻注意報が出され、建国156周年を祝う行事が一時中止されたということです。
