コンビニ大手「ローソン」は新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大の影響で営業できなくなった「道の駅」を支援するため、産地直送の野菜や果物を販売する取り組みを始めました。
Big chain of convenience stores Lawson has started selling fruit and vegetables directly from the farm to support "Roadside Stations," which cannot be operated due to the corona virus.
ローソンは栃木県の「道の駅ましこ」でゴールデンウィーク中に販売される予定だったとちおとめやロメインレタスなど約10種類の野菜や果物の販売を始めました。
Lawson began selling about 10 kinds of vegetables and fruits such as Tochimoe strawberry and Romaine lettuce, which are scheduled to be sold in "Mashiko Road Station" in Tochigi Prefecture during Golden Week.
収穫したその日のうちに益子町から高速バスを利用して店舗に運ぶことで農家やバス運営会社の支援にもつなげたい考えです。
On the day of the harvest, they will use the highway buses from Mashiko town, Tochigi prefecture to bring products to the stores, assisting farmers and bus management companies.
まずは今月7日まで横浜市と川崎市にある5つの店舗で販売します。
First of all, the products will be on sale at 5 stores in Yokohama and Kawasaki until 7th this month.
ローソンの竹増社長は「このような取り組みを通じて地域社会に貢献していきたい」としています。
"We want to contribute to the localities through such efforts," said Lawson president Takemasu.
