ファミリーレストラン大手のすかいらーくホールディングスは、持ち帰りや宅配用のスプーンやフォークなどのカトラリーを木製に切り替えると発表しました。
切り替えが行われるのは、「ガスト」や「バーミヤン」など国内のおよそ3000店舗で、来年1月から順次持ち帰り用のカトラリーがバイオマスプラスチックから木製になります。
これにより、来年のプラスチックの使用量を2020年より86トン削減できるということです。
すかいらーくは、使い捨てプラスチックの使用量を5年後までに2020年の半分に削減する目標を掲げていて、
木製のカトラリーを当面は無料で提供しますが、地球資源保護のため、ゆくゆくは有料化する方針です。
来年4月にプラスチックごみの削減が義務付けられるのを前に、小売りや外食業界では「脱プラ」の取り組みが広がっています。
