天皇皇后両陛下は秋篠宮ご夫妻とともに18日午後4時ごろ、皇居の宮殿でインドネシアのジョコ大統領やフィリピンのマルコス大統領らASEAN9カ国の首脳やその夫人らと懇談されました。

冒頭、天皇陛下は英語で「日本とアセアン各国で共同声明が採択されたことをお祝いします」などとあいさつし、その後、両陛下らは各国首脳らと個別に懇談されました。

インドネシアのジョコ大統領に対しては6月に訪問した際、大統領が自らゴルフカートを運転して大統領官邸からボゴール植物園まで案内してくれたことなどについて、両陛下は改めて感謝の気持ちを伝えられました。
Delegates once again expressed gratitude to President Joko Widodo of Indonesia because during his visit in June, the President personally drove a golf cart from the Presidential Palace to the Bogor Ta Botanical Garden.
