グレビーシマウマはシマウマの中でも最も絶滅の危機に瀕していて、国際自然保護連合のレッドリストでは絶滅危惧種に指定されています。　
Grevy's zebra is the most endangered of all zebra species and is listed as endangered in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
アフリカ東部のエチオピアやケニアに生息し、野生にはわずか2000頭残っているだけとみられています。　
They live in Ethiopia and Kenya in eastern Africa and it is believed that there are only 2,000 left in the wild.
シマウマの赤ちゃんはオスで、7日に公開された映像には母親と元気に駆ける姿もありました。　
The baby zebra is a male and in the video released on the 7th, it is seen running with its mother.
グレビーシマウマを増やす計画は世界中で進んでいて日本でも去年、横浜市の野毛山動物園で赤ちゃんが生まれています。
