テニスの四大大会の一つ、ウィンブルドン選手権がロンドンで開幕します。
今年はロシアとベラルーシの選手の参加が認められます。
3日に開幕するウィンブルドン選手権では、ロシアとベラルーシの政権や指導者を支持しないことなどを条件に、今年は両国の選手の参加が認められます。
ウィンブルドン選手権の主催者は去年、ロシアのウクライナ侵攻を受けて「スポーツをロシア政府の宣伝に使わせないことが重要」などと説明し、ロシアとベラルーシの選手の出場を認めませんでした。
他のテニスの世界大会では「中立の選手」として、ロシアとベラルーシ両国の選手の出場が認められていました。
このため、テニスツアー団体は去年、ウィンブルドン選手権の主催者などに罰金を科していました。
