A contagious argument

Mr. Kitchomu
むかしむかし、きっちょむさんと言う、とても愉快な人がいました。
A long time ago, there was a very pleasant person whose name is "Kitchomu".
そのきっちょむさんの隣の家の夫婦は、いつもけんかばかりしています。
The couple living in the house next to Kitchomu was always arguing with each other.
大体、お前がだな！
"Who are you really? Is there a real you?"
何よ！　あたしのせいにするの！
"Yeh of course it's me. So what? What do you mean?"
こんな風に大声を出して怒鳴り合うし、二人して物を投げつけるわで、
They shouted with anger and even threw things at each other,
それは大変な騒ぎです。
which made awful noises.
そこである日の事、きっちょむさんは隣との間に、垣根をこしらえ始めたのです。
One day, Kitchomu decided to make a fence in the space between two houses.
それを、たまたまやって来た庄屋さんが見て言いました。
The mayor of that village saw it and asked him:
よう、きっちょむさん。一体何をしてるのかね？
"Mr.Kitchomu, what are you doing?"
するときっちょむさんは、
Kitchomu said:
何って、見れば分かるでしょう。
"You really don't know what am I doing?
垣根を作っているんですよ
I'm making a fence."
それは分かるが、なぜ？
"Of course I know, but why?"
それはもちろん、隣の夫婦げんかが、こっちにうつらん様にですよ
"Obviously because of that couple, I have to make this fence."
ああ、
"Oh,
この夫婦な。しかし、けんかという物は、
I see. But actually their argument
うつる物じゃない。だから垣根など作っても無駄じゃ
is not something really weird, is it? So it seems useless to make the fence."
いいや、うつりますよ
"No. I must do that."
うつらんて
"Ok. As you wish."
きっちょむさんも庄屋さんも、だんだん声が大きくなってきました。
Both Kitchomu and the mayor started arguing with each other and their angry voices became louder and louder.
だから、うつらんといっているだろう！
"So didn't I said that just fence round?"
うつりますとも！うつるもんか！うつるとも！うつらん！うつる！
"Yes, I said that I would!" "Ok just do it!" "I said I would!" "Just keep doing!" "I will!"
そこで、きっちょむさんが言いました。
Then, Kitchomu said:
ほら、けんかがうつったでしょう
"Wait. Can argument be contagious? "
