The cows and the axle
ウシたちが、荷車をひいていました。
The cows were pulling the cart.
荷車の車軸が、キイキイときしみました。
And the axle of the cart was squeaking.
するとウシたちは、車軸にむかって、
Then the cows headed towards the axle,
「よせやい、荷物をひっぱっているのはおれたちだぜ。おまえが泣くことはないだろう」
they said
と、いいました。
"Well, we are the ones pulling the cart, not you. So you shouldn't cry like that."
この車軸と同じように、

じっさいにはたらいているのはほかの人なのに、自分だけがはたらいてくたびれたという顔をする人がいます。
