Following the House of Councillors election, Constitutional Democratic Party leader Noda and Democratic Party for the People leader Tamaki each held talks with Rengo President Yoshino, reported the election results, and, taking into account that Prime Minister Ishiba has announced he will remain in office, confirmed their intention to proceed with preparations for the next House of Representatives election.
Of these, Constitutional Democratic Party leader Noda, whose party won the same 22 seats as those up for re-election, visited the Rengo headquarters around 9 a.m. on the 22nd and held talks with President Yoshino.
In this meeting, Representative Noda reported that although the ruling parties lost their majority, the party failed to expand its support among unaffiliated voters and struggled to increase its proportional representation votes. Taking these circumstances into account, they confirmed that preparations would proceed for the next House of Representatives election.
