Typhoon No. 8 is expected to approach the Okinawa region tonight. According to the Okinawa Meteorological Observatory, as of 9 a.m. on the 25th, Typhoon No. 8 is in the South China Sea, moving northeast at about 20 kilometers per hour.

The central pressure is 980 hectopascals, the maximum wind speed near the center is 30 meters per second, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed is 45 meters per second. Within a radius of 75 kilometers from the center, violent winds with speeds of 25 meters per second or more are occurring.

Typhoon No. 8 is expected to move north over the southern part of Okinawa and approach the Okinawa region on the night of the 25th.

In the coastal waters of the Okinawa region, the sea is rough with swells, and the wave height forecast for the 25th is 4 meters for the Okinawa Main Island area, the Daito Islands area, and the Sakishima Islands.

It is also expected that the wind will gradually strengthen from late at night on the 25th, with maximum wind speeds of 15 meters per second and maximum instantaneous wind speeds of 23 meters per second predicted for the Sakishima Islands on the 25th.

Depending on the development of the typhoon, the Okinawa Main Island area may experience rough seas and heavy rain at warning levels on the 26th and 27th.

Typhoon No. 7 is expected to become a tropical depression soon. Meanwhile, as of 9 a.m. on the 25th, Typhoon No. 7 is moving west at about 30 kilometers per hour over the sea approximately 250 kilometers north-northeast of Yonaguni Island.

Typhoon No. 7 is expected to become a tropical depression after this.

Typhoon No. 9, which formed near the Mariana Islands on the 24th, is moving north.

There is a possibility that it will approach the Ogasawara Islands early next week.
