In response to armed clashes in the border area between Thailand and Cambodia, a closed emergency meeting was held at the United Nations Security Council, where Cambodia called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, while Thailand also called for a resumption of dialogue.
タイとカンボジアが領有権を争う国境地帯では24日以降、両国の軍の武力衝突が続いていて、これまでにタイ側で少なくとも14人が死亡し、カンボジア側で13人が死亡しました
Since the 24th, armed clashes between the militaries of Thailand and Cambodia have continued in the disputed border area, with at least 14 people killed on the Thai side and 13 on the Cambodian side so far.
こうした中、国連の安保理では25日、カンボジアの要請を受けて非公開の緊急会合が開かれました

議論の詳しい内容は明らかになっていませんが、会合後、カンボジアの国連大使は記者団の取材に応じ、「カンボジアは無条件での即時停戦と紛争の平和的解決を求めた」と明らかにしました
The details of the discussion have not been disclosed, but after the meeting, Cambodias ambassador to the United Nations told reporters that Cambodia called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
また、会合で各国からは、両国に最大限の自制と外交的解決を求める声があがったと話しました
He also said that, at the meeting, voices were raised by various countries calling on both nations to exercise maximum restraint and seek a diplomatic resolution.
一方、タイ政府の代表は、会合後に発言内容を発表し、「民間施設に対して行われた無差別かつ非人道的な攻撃を最も強いことばで非難する」としたうえで、「カンボジアに対し、直ちにすべての敵対行為と侵略行為を停止し、善意をもって対話を再開するよう強く求める」として、2国間の交渉を呼びかけました
On the other hand, the Thai government representative released a statement after the meeting, saying, We strongly condemn the indiscriminate and inhumane attacks carried out against civilian facilities, and further stated, We strongly urge Cambodia to immediately cease all hostile and aggressive acts and to resume dialogue in good faith, thus calling for bilateral negotiations.
カンボジア国防省の報道官は、タイとの国境地帯で続く武力衝突でこれまでにあわせて13人が死亡したと、26日午前、発表しました
A spokesperson for Cambodias Ministry of Defense announced on the morning of the 26th that a total of 13 people have died so far in ongoing armed clashes in the border area with Thailand.
死亡したのは兵士5人と民間人8人で、このほかに数十人がけがをしたとしています
Five soldiers and eight civilians were killed, and in addition, dozens of people were injured.
