複数の外交関係者によりますと台湾の頼清徳総統は8月、外交関係のある中南米の国々を訪れる際にアメリカのニューヨークなどへの立ち寄りを計画していましたが、その後、見送ることになったということです
According to multiple diplomatic sources, Taiwans President Lai Ching-te had planned to stop over in places such as New York in the United States when visiting Central and South American countries with which Taiwan has diplomatic relations in August, but it has since been decided that he will forgo these stopovers.
台湾総統府の報道官は28日夜、メディアからの問い合わせに答えるかたちで「最近の台湾南部の台風被害の復旧状況やアメリカとの関税交渉などを考慮し、頼総統が近く海外を訪問する計画はない」とコメントしています
