According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, as of 9 a.m. on the 29th, Typhoon No. 9 is believed to be moving west-northwest at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour over the sea, 120 kilometers northeast of Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands.

The typhoon is closest to the Ogasawara Islands, and on Chichijima, the wind is gradually getting stronger. The maximum instantaneous wind speed in the three hours up to 5 a.m. has reached 21 meters per second, and it is also raining.

After this, the typhoon will move northward, but its movement will be slow, and it may remain almost stationary near the Ogasawara Islands until the 31st, causing prolonged effects.

For this reason, very strong winds are expected to blow in the Ogasawara Islands through the 31st, with maximum wind speeds of 25 meters per second and maximum instantaneous wind speeds of 35 meters per second forecast for the 29th.

It is expected that the sea will remain very rough with swells through the 31st, and wave heights on the 29th are forecast to reach 7 meters.

Also, through the 30th, there will be intermittent heavy rain accompanied by thunder, and there is a risk of localized downpours.

The amount of rainfall expected in the 24 hours up to the morning of the 30th is up to 120 millimeters in the Ogasawara Islands, followed by 80 millimeters in the 24 hours up to the morning of the 31st. There is also a possibility that the amount of rain will increase further after that.

Typhoon No. 8 is moving away, but there is still a risk of heavy rain. Typhoon No. 8 has moved out to the sea west of Okinawa and is moving away, but due to the warm, moist air flowing toward the typhoon, the atmosphere over Okinawa and Amami has become unstable, and developed rain clouds are intermittently flowing in.
