GREEN APPLE held an outdoor concert at a special venue in Yamashita Pier at Yokohama Port on July 26th and 27th, attracting about 100,000 visitors over the two days.

According to the record company, there were a series of complaints from local residents about the noise related to this concert.

The volume complied with standards set by laws and regulations, and although speakers and seating were arranged on the seaside and simulations were conducted in advance, it is reported that on the day of the event, the sound spread over a wider area than expected due to the direction of the wind.

Universal Music stated, We sincerely and deeply apologize to all residents in the surrounding area for the great inconvenience caused, and added, We will take this situation seriously, conduct a thorough review, and make every effort to prevent a recurrence.

At the same time, they released a statement saying, We are committed to holding live events in a way that earns the understanding and cooperation of the local community.

Yamashita Pier, where the outdoor concert that has received complaints and opinions from the public was held, is a port facility managed by Yokohama City. According to the city, it has been used as a venue for various events in the past.

When granting permission for this live event, the city requested the organizers to be mindful of the volume. However, by the 29th, the citys port authority, which manages the pier, had received about 50 complaints and comments regarding noise.

The city will convey the complaints and opinions it has received to the organizers, and will also request a report on the results of the review that the organizers are planning to conduct.

On top of that, they are requesting that, in the future, special care be taken regarding the volume during similar music events and the like, to ensure consideration for the surrounding area.
