According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, warm and moist air is flowing toward the front, causing extremely unstable atmospheric conditions, especially in western Japan.

Active rain clouds are covering northern Kyushu, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and other areas. In the one hour up to 5 a.m. on the 10th, 49 mm of rain was recorded by a rain gauge set up by Chikujō Town in Fukuoka Prefecture, and 37 mm was recorded at Tsubakigahana in Hita City, Ōita Prefecture.

In Fukuoka Prefecture, it is believed that extremely heavy rain of 110 to 120 millimeters per hour fell from late at night on the 9th to the early hours of the 10th, and a linear rainband also formed. The amount of rainfall expected in the 24 hours up to the morning of the 11th is as follows, in areas where rainfall will be heavy: 300mm in northern Kyushu, 250mm in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Shikoku, and Tokai, 200mm in Kinki and Kanto-Koshin, 180mm in southern Kyushu, 120mm in the Chugoku region, and 100mm in Hokuriku and Tohoku.

After that, the rain is expected to continue, and in the 24 hours until the morning of the 12th, rainfall is forecast to reach 300 millimeters in Shikoku, 200 millimeters in Kinki, Tokai, and Kanto-Koshin, 150 millimeters in northern Kyushu, and 100 millimeters in southern Kyushu and Hokuriku.

There is a possibility of a linear rainband forming in Saga, Nagasaki, and Yamaguchi. In Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, and Yamaguchi prefectures, there is a chance that a linear rainband will develop by the morning of the 11th, which could rapidly increase the risk of disasters.

The front is expected to remain stationary until around Tuesday the 12th, so there is a risk that the amount of rainfall will increase further.

Be extremely cautious of landslides, flooding in low-lying areas, and rising or overflowing rivers, and also be alert for lightning, tornadoes, strong gusts of wind, and hail.
