ことし1月、長野駅前で男女3人が相次いで刃物で刺され、長野市の49歳の会社員が死亡し、男女2人が重軽傷を負った事件では、市内に住む無職、矢口雄資容疑者（47）が殺人や殺人未遂の疑いで逮捕されました。

長野地方検察庁は、容疑者の刑事責任能力を調べるため当初の予定を1か月延長し、今月12日までおよそ5か月にわたって鑑定留置を行い、専門家による精神鑑定を行っていました。

捜査関係者によりますと、その結果、検察は刑事責任を問えると判断し、勾留期限の18日にも容疑者を殺人などの罪で起訴する方針を固めました。

これまでの警察の調べに対し、容疑者は当初、事件について黙秘し、ことし3月、殺人の疑いで3回目に逮捕されたあと、「無罪を主張します」などと供述していたということです。
