Monitoring posts are used to help make decisions about evacuation and other responses in the event of a serious accident at a nuclear power plant. Therefore, the Nuclear Regulation Authority is conducting demonstration tests around the Shimane Nuclear Power Plant in Matsue City to diversify the communication functions of monitoring posts in preparation for situations where a nuclear accident and an earthquake occur simultaneously.

Specifically, in addition to the existing wired and satellite lines, we are utilizing a wireless communication system called LPWA, which can transmit data with low power consumption. We are installing dedicated devices at 22 monitoring posts and examining factors such as the transmission range.

場所のモニタリングポストに
設置され、これまでに
およそ6キロ先まで
安定してデータを
伝送できることが
確認できたということです。
The equipment for this system is installed at monitoring posts in locations with few obstacles around, and it has been confirmed that stable data transmission is possible for a distance of approximately six kilometers.

調べたうえで、
今年度中に
試験結果をまとめ、
関係する
自治体と
共有することにしています。
The Nuclear Regulation Authority plans to further increase the number of installation sites and, after examining whether data can be transmitted stably over long periods of time, will compile the test results within this fiscal year and share them with the relevant local governments.
