杉内寿子八段が
20日で
引退すると
発表しました。
The Nihon Ki-in announced on the 19th that Toshiko Sugiuchi, an 8-dan professional Go player and the oldest active professional at 98 years old, will retire on the 20th.
は
静岡県出身で、
1942年にプロ
棋士となり、
1953年、
現在の「
女流本因坊戦」にあたる「
女流選手権」で
初めて
タイトルを
獲得しました。
Sugiuchi 8-dan is from Shizuoka Prefecture and became a professional Go player in 1942. In 1953, she won her first title in the Womens Championship, which is now known as the Womens Honinbo Tournament.
その
後も「
女流名人戦」で
4連覇を
果たすなど、
女流のタイトルを
通算で
10期獲得しました。
After that, she went on to win the Womens Meijin title for four consecutive years, and in total, she has won ten womens titles.

去年4月には
夫の
杉内雅男九段の

最年長での

更新し、
最終的に

引退を

8-dan Sugiuchi was absent from two matches held in June and July this year due to health reasons, and according to the Japan Go Association, he decided to retire because long matches had become physically difficult for him.
