At some stores of the convenience store chain Ministop, there was an issue with inappropriate expiration date labeling on in-store prepared items such as rice balls. It has been revealed that a store in Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture explained to the public health center that they felt it was wasteful to discard the items and had been doing this for about a year and a half or two years.
コンビニチェーンの「ミニストップ」では、店内で調理したおにぎりや弁当、総菜を、一度売り場に並べたあと、消費期限を先延ばししたラベルを貼り直したり、製造から数時間たったあとに消費期限を表示したラベルを貼ったりする事例が、これまでに7つの都府県の23店舗で確認されています。
At the convenience store chain Ministop, there have been cases confirmed at 23 stores in seven prefectures where rice balls, bento boxes, and side dishes prepared in-store were first placed on the sales floor, and then their expiration date labels were replaced with ones showing a later date, or labels displaying the expiration date were attached several hours after the items were made.
兵庫 川西市の店舗「廃棄もったいない 1年半か2年ほど前から」
兵庫県川西市を管轄する県の保健所によりますと、このうち「川西西多田店」と「川西見野2丁目店」の2店舗について、ことし6月下旬に会社側から「巡回を行っていたところ、消費期限のラベルの貼り替えが確認された」と連絡がありました。
Hyogo Kawanishi City stores: “Wasteful to discard, since about a year and a half or two years ago.” According to the prefectural health center that has jurisdiction over Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture, the company reported in late June this year that, while conducting inspections, they found that expiration date labels had been replaced at two stores: “Kawanishi Nishitada Store” and “Kawanishi Mino 2-chome Store.”
これを受けて保健所が7月1日に立ち入り検査を行い、オーナーが、消費期限が迫ったおにぎりに期限を改ざんしたラベルを重ねて貼って店頭に並べていたほか、従業員の一部も同様の行為をしていたことが確認されたということです。
In response to this, the public health center conducted an on-site inspection on July 1st and confirmed that the owner had placed altered labels over the original ones on rice balls whose expiration dates were approaching and displayed them in the store. It was also confirmed that some employees had engaged in similar actions.
オーナーは「廃棄するのがもったいないと感じ、1年半か2年ほど前からラベルを重ねて貼っていた」と説明したということで、保健所は、すみやかに再発防止策をとるよう指導しました。
The owner explained, I felt it was a waste to discard them, so I had been layering the labels for about a year and a half or two years. Accordingly, the public health center instructed them to promptly implement measures to prevent a recurrence.
京都市の店舗「去年4月ごろから 食品ロス減らす目的で」
京都市保健所によりますと、京都市西京区にある「嵐山駅前店」について、会社からの連絡を受けて、8月13日に立ち入り検査を行ったということです。
The store in Kyoto City: Since around April last year, with the aim of reducing food loss. According to the Kyoto City Health Center, after being contacted by the company, an on-site inspection was conducted on August 13 at the Arashiyama Ekimae Store in Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto City.
店舗側は「去年4月ごろから食品ロスを減らす目的で不適切な表示を行っていた」と説明したということで、保健所はすみやかに再発防止策をとるよう指導しました。
The store explained that since around April last year, inappropriate labeling had been carried out with the aim of reducing food loss, and the public health center instructed them to promptly implement measures to prevent recurrence.
京都府内では、久御山町の「久御山町田井店」と京田辺市の「田辺中央店」でも、管轄の保健所の調査に対し「数年前からやっていた」と説明しているということで、今後、立ち入り検査を行うことにしています。
In Kyoto Prefecture, it has been explained to the relevant public health centers that both the Kumiyama-cho Tai Store in Kumiyama Town and the Tanabe Chuo Store in Kyotanabe City have been doing this for several years, and on this basis, on-site inspections are planned to be conducted in the future.
福岡市の店舗 調理から1～3時間経過後に消費期限のラベル貼る
福岡市東区にある店舗でも、8月19日に保健所による立ち入り調査が行われていたことが分かりました。
A store in Fukuoka City was found to be labeling food with expiration dates 1 to 3 hours after cooking. It was also revealed that a public health center inspection was conducted on August 19 at a store located in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City.
福岡市保健所によりますと、立ち入り調査が行われたのは「福岡八田1丁目店」です。
According to the Fukuoka City Health Center, the on-site inspection was conducted at the Fukuoka Hatta 1-chome Store.
19日に保健所の職員がこの店を訪れて調理工程などの状況を聞き取るなどした結果、店内で調理したおにぎりについて、調理から1～3時間経過したあとで消費期限を表示したラベルを貼っていたことが分かったということです。
On the 19th, after a public health center staff visited the shop and interviewed about the cooking process, it was found that for the rice balls prepared in the store, labels showing the expiration date were attached 1 to 3 hours after cooking.
消費期限を表示した商品を一度売り場に並べたあと、期限を先延ばししたラベルを貼り直すといった行為は確認されなかったということです。
It has been confirmed that there were no instances of products with displayed expiration dates being relabeled with extended dates after being placed on the sales floor.
都内では2店舗 江戸川保健所は今週中に立ち入り調査
都内では江戸川区と足立区の2店舗で商品製造のルールを逸脱した行為があったとしています。
In Tokyo, there are two stores. The Edogawa Public Health Center will conduct an on-site inspection within this week. It has been reported that at two stores in Tokyo—one in Edogawa Ward and one in Adachi Ward—there were actions that deviated from the rules for product manufacturing.
江戸川区の江戸川保健所によりますと、先週の段階で、ミニストップの本社から「商品の消費期限の表示に誤りがあった」と連絡が入ったということです。
According to the Edogawa Public Health Center in Edogawa Ward, last week, they received a notification from the headquarters of Ministop stating that there was an error in the expiration date displayed on their products.
これを受けて保健所は、区内にある店舗のうち「葛西トラックターミナル店」に今週中に立ち入り調査を行う予定だとしています。
In response to this, the public health center plans to conduct an on-site inspection at the Kasai Truck Terminal Store within the ward sometime this week.
店内でどのように調理をしていたのかなど商品の製造過程を確認して今後の対応を検討するということです。
They said they will check how the products were prepared in the store and review the manufacturing process before considering how to respond in the future.
ミニストップ「心よりおわび」
会社によりますと、これまでのところ健康被害に関する情報は入っていないということです。
