東京 新宿区の会社員、谷本将志 容疑者（35）は、8月20日、神戸市内にあるマンションのエレベーターの中で、24歳の会社員の女性をナイフで刺して殺害した疑いが持たれています。
Masashi Tanimoto, a 35-year-old company employee from Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, is suspected of stabbing and killing a 24-year-old female company employee with a knife in the elevator of an apartment building in Kobe City on August 20.
これまでの調べで、容疑者は事件の日に、およそ50分間にわたって勤務先から帰宅する女性のあとをつけたとみられ、女性の勤務先の近くにある防犯カメラの映像には、事件の2日前の8月18日から当日まで連日、容疑者によく似た人物が写っていました。
Based on the investigation so far, it is believed that the suspect followed the woman, who was returning home from work, for about 50 minutes on the day of the incident. Security camera footage near the womans workplace showed a person closely resembling the suspect every day from August 18, two days before the incident, up to the day itself.
さらに容疑者が、住んでいる東京から神戸を訪れて滞在を始めた8月17日にも、勤務先の近くに行っていたとみられることが捜査関係者への取材で分かりました。
It has also been learned from interviews with investigators that the suspect was believed to have gone near his workplace on August 17, the day he started staying in Kobe after coming from his home in Tokyo.
防犯カメラの映像には、17日の夕方に、容疑者によく似た人物が勤務先近くの歩道を歩く姿が写っていました。
The security camera footage showed a person who closely resembled the suspect walking on the sidewalk near their workplace on the evening of the 17th.
谷本容疑者は調べに対して、女性について全く知らない人とした上で、「殺意を持っていたか分からないが、ナイフで刺したことに間違いない」と供述しているということです。
Tanimoto, the suspect, stated during questioning that he had no knowledge of the woman at all, and said, Im not sure if I had the intent to kill, but theres no doubt that I stabbed her with a knife.
