Representative Noda of the Constitutional Democratic Party has launched a new leadership structure, appointing veteran Jun Azumi as secretary-general and assigning three young members, each elected to the House of Representatives twice, to key positions.

Mr. Noda is serving as an executive aiming to take power, and the focus will be on whether he can promote cooperation among opposition parties.

Representative Noda of the Constitutional Democratic Party has launched a new executive team, appointing veteran Jun Azumi, who served as chairman of the House of Representatives Budget Committee, as Secretary-General. Additionally, two younger members who have each been elected to the House of Representatives twice were given key positions: Tomofumi Honjo as Policy Research Council Chair, Harumi Yoshida as Acting Representative, and Hajime Watanabe as Public Relations Committee Chair.

Mr. Noda said, Along with a sense of stability, a feeling of renewal is also necessary, so I paid attention to maintaining a balance.

He said, This is an executive team aimed at taking power.

Regarding this personnel change, while some within the party believe that appointing a wide range of people will lead to a united party structure, there are also voices expressing doubt about whether the younger members will be able to demonstrate their abilities.

Furthermore, Takai, the Secretary-General of the Reiwa Shinsengumi, from another opposition party, requested, I want the new executive team to firmly establish a contact point for discussions among opposition parties. In addition, Tamura, the Chairperson of the Communist Party, stated, I would like to discuss how we can break through the current political deadlock.

Mr. Noda has indicated that he would like to hold discussions among opposition parties regarding the upcoming Prime Ministerial nomination election to be held in the Diet after the next president of the Liberal Democratic Party is decided, and the focus will be on whether cooperation can be advanced.
