警視庁などによりますと、11日午後3時半ごろ、東京・大田区令和島にある東京港のコンテナふ頭でふ頭に積まれていたコンテナ5台が倒れ作業にあたっていた村上豊さん（41）が下敷きになって死亡したほか、近くでは別のコンテナも複数倒れ、60代の男性が胸を打撲するけがをしました。

村上さんは、フォークリフトの運転席で作業していたところ、重さ4トンほどのコンテナが運転席に斜めに倒れかかり下敷きになったということです。
Mr. Murakami was working in the drivers seat of a forklift when a container weighing about four tons fell diagonally onto the drivers seat, trapping him underneath.
この付近では11日午後3時半ごろ、発達した雨雲がかかり落雷も観測していたことなどから東京管区気象台は12日午後、4人の職員を派遣し現地調査を行いました。

当時、活発な積乱雲が通過したほか、現場にいた関係者が突風が吹いたと話していたということで、気象台は、「コンテナが倒れたのは突風が原因の1つと考えられる」としています。
