On the 12th of this month, record-breaking heavy rain caused flooding in an underground parking lot in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture. Drainage work is underway, and according to a survey by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, in addition to the 180 vehicles on the first basement floor that were damaged by the water, there are at least about 100 more vehicles on the second basement floor that were also affected.

四日市市中心部の国道と市道の地下にある地下駐車場の「くすの木パーキング」は、第三セクターの会社が運営し、500台余りを収容することができますが、今月12日の記録的な大雨で地下2階が完全に水没し、地下1階も最も深いところで1メートル余りの深さまで水につかりました。
The Kusunoki Parking Lot, an underground parking facility located beneath national and city roads in the center of Yokkaichi City, is operated by a third-sector company and can accommodate over 500 vehicles. However, due to record-breaking heavy rain on the 12th of this month, the second basement level was completely submerged, and even the first basement level was flooded to a depth of over one meter at its deepest point.
国土交通省は大雨の翌日からポンプ車などを使って排水作業を進めていて、これまでに排水を完了した地下1階だけで180台の車が水につかる被害が確認されています。
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has been carrying out drainage work using pump trucks and other equipment since the day after the heavy rain, and so far, damage has been confirmed to 180 vehicles submerged in water on just the first basement floor where drainage has been completed.
一時、完全に水没した地下2階の排水作業が16日も行われていて、この地下2階では水につかっている車が少なくとも100台ほどあることが国土交通省の調査でわかりました。
The drainage work on the second basement floor, which was once completely submerged, continued on the 16th, and a survey by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism revealed that there are at least about 100 cars submerged in water on this floor.

国土交通省中部地方整備局の松尾賢二課長補佐は「地下2階の車両は完全に水没していたため泥をかぶり、浮き上がって所定の位置にないものもありました」と話していました。
Mr. Kenji Matsuo, Assistant Manager at the Chubu Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, said, The vehicles on the second basement level were completely submerged, so they were covered in mud, and some had floated up and were no longer in their designated positions.
