姫さまがいました。
Once upon a time, in a certain country, there was a king and a beautiful princess.

Every day, the princess played with a golden ball in the forest near the castle.

One day, the princess dropped her golden ball into a well and cried out in sorrow.

聞きました。
お姫さまは「

泉に
落としたの」と
言いました。
The princess answered, I dropped my golden ball into the well.
かえるは「
金の
玉を
取ってきて
あげる。
The frog said, I will get your golden ball back for you.
、ぼくと
友だちになって、
一緒にごはんを
食べたり、
ベッドで
寝たりして
くれる？
But will you be my friend, eat meals together with me, and sleep in the same bed?
」と
言いました。
お姫さまは「
はい、
約束します」と
言いましたが、
本当は
そんなつもりはありませんでした。
The princess said, Yes, I promise, but she had no intention of actually keeping that promise.
かえるは
金の
玉を
取ってきてくれました。
The frog retrieved the golden ball for the princess.
は
玉を
受け
取ると、すぐにお
城に
帰ってしまいました。
When she received the ball, the princess immediately returned to the castle.
の
日、かえるが
お城に
来て、「
約束を
守ってください」と
言いました。
The next day, the frog came to the castle and said, Please keep your promise.
さまは「
約束は
大切だよ」と
言ったので、お
姫さまはしかたなく、かえると
一緒にごはんを
食べたり、
部屋に
連れて
行ったりしました。
The king said, A promise is very important, so the princess reluctantly ate with the frog and took him to her room.

お姫さまはかえるがきらいでした。
However, the princess still didnt like the frog.

言いました。
At night, the frog said, I want to sleep in the same bed as you.

The princess got angry and threw the frog against the wall.

Soon, the frog transformed into a handsome prince.

悪い
魔法でかえるにされていたけど、お
姫さまの
おかげで
人間に
戻れた」と
言いました。
The prince said, I was turned into a frog by a wicked curse, but thanks to you, I was able to become human again.

日、
王子さまとお
姫さまは
馬車で
王子さまの
国へ
行きました。
The next day, the prince and princess rode in a carriage toward the prince’s kingdom.
さまの
家来のヘンリーも
とても喜びました。
Prince Henrys attendant was also very happy.

暮らしました。
And so, the princess and the prince lived happily ever after.
