On the 29th in Hokkaido, due to cold air aloft and other factors, snow is falling even in flat areas, mainly in the eastern part of the Pacific side. The meteorological observatory is urging people to be cautious of possible impacts on traffic.
札幌管区気象台によりますと、29日の道内は2つの低気圧に挟まれて気圧の谷の中となり、上空には寒気が流れ込んでいる影響で、太平洋側東部を中心に、平地でも雪が降っているところがあります。
According to the Sapporo District Meteorological Observatory, on the 29th, Hokkaido will be caught between two low-pressure systems, creating a trough of low pressure, and due to cold air flowing in aloft, snow is falling even on flatlands, mainly in the eastern part of the Pacific side.
午前11時までの6時間に降った雪の量は
▽上士幌町のぬかびらで8センチ、
▽帯広空港で7センチ、
▽中札内村上札内で6センチ、
▽阿寒湖畔で5センチなどとなっています。
The snowfall in the six hours up to 11 a.m. was 8 centimeters in Nukabira, Kamishihoro Town; 7 centimeters at Obihiro Airport; 6 centimeters in Kamisatsunai, Nakasatsunai Village; and 5 centimeters at Lake Akan, among other places.
雪は30日にかけて降り続く見込みで、30日午前6時までの24時間に降る雪の量はいずれも多いところで
▽オホーツク海側と太平洋側東部で30センチ、
▽日本海側北部で15センチ、
▽日本海側南部で5センチなどと予想されています。
Snow is expected to continue falling through the 30th, with snowfall amounts in the 24 hours up to 6 a.m. on the 30th predicted to be as much as: 30 centimeters in both the Sea of Okhotsk side and the eastern Pacific side, 15 centimeters in the northern Sea of Japan side, and 5 centimeters in the southern Sea of Japan side, among other areas.
気象台はこの時期、すでに夏タイヤに交換したドライバーや、雪道の運転に慣れていない観光客もいるとみて、積雪や路面の凍結による交通への影響、それに電線などへの着雪に注意するよう呼びかけています。
The meteorological observatory is urging caution regarding the impact of snowfall and icy roads on traffic, as well as snow accumulation on power lines, noting that some drivers may have already switched to summer tires and that there may be tourists who are not used to driving on snowy roads at this time of year.
紋別 芽吹いたばかりのサクラにも雪
紋別市では、29日午前7時ごろ、山沿いの道路脇に雪がうっすらと積もっている様子が確認できました。

紋別市の郊外にある標高330メートルほどの大山山頂にある公園では、園内一面が雪景色となり、芽吹いたばかりのサクラの枝にも雪が積もっていました。
In a park located at the summit of Mt. Oyama, about 330 meters above sea level on the outskirts of Mombetsu City, the entire park was covered in snow, and even the branches of cherry trees that had just begun to bud were blanketed with snow.
