来月3日の節分を前に金子農水大臣は食品ロスを削減するため、恵方巻の予約購入を呼び掛けました。　
Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Kaneko called for Ehomaki to be pre-ordered to reduce food losses before Setsubun on the 3rd of next month.
「購入される方は食品ロスの削減につながるよう、あらかじめ予約をするなどして恵方巻きを楽しんで頂きたい」　
"Buyers should enjoy Ehomaki by pre-ordering to reduce food loss."
恵方巻きは節分の日を過ぎると販売数が急速に減少する季節性の高い商品のため、食品ロスが出やすいと指摘されています。
It has been pointed out that Ehomaki is a highly seasonal product, sales decline rapidly after Setsubun, so there is a high chance of food loss.
このため政府は3年前から恵方巻を予約で購入するよう呼び掛けています。　
For this reason, since three years ago the government has called for purchasing Ehomaki by reservation.
去年はこうした呼び掛けでおととしよりも廃棄が半分に減少したということで、今年も多くの店で予約の期限を迎える今週末を前に予約を呼び掛けました。　
Last year, these calls halved the amount of Ehomaki, so shoppers called to reserve this weekend, when many stores are also due for pre-orders this year.
農林水産省によりますと、65の食品スーパーなどが恵方巻の予約販売に取り組んでいるということです。
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, 65 food supermarkets are conducting pre-orders for Ehomaki.
