2016年に入所者19人が殺害される事件があった、神奈川県相模原市の障害者施設「津久井やまゆり園」に新しい建物が完成し、来月、5年ぶりに再開します。
津久井やまゆり園を巡っては、2016年に入所者19人が元職員の男に殺害されました。
園は、この事件を受けて当時の施設を取り壊し、別の場所で運営を続けていました。
「ここに戻ってきて安心して暮らせる利用者さんの姿を見ていきたい」
この度、新しい施設が完成し、来月の運営開始に向けて入所者やその家族など44人が参加して開所式が行われました。
来月1日から約50人が入所予定で、防犯カメラの数を増やすなどセキュリティーも強化されました。
