政府は、アップルとグーグルが展開するサービスが他社の参入を疎外しているとして、新たな規制を導入する方針を決めました。
政府のデジタル市場競争本部は、「セキュリティやプライバシーを確保しつつ、ユーザーが多様なサービスを選択でき、その恩恵を受けることを目指す」として、
アップルやグーグルなどからヒアリングを行い最終報告をまとめました。
アップルについては、自社以外のアプリストアが利用できないため、手数料に競争圧力が働かないなどとして、他社のサービスも利用できるようにすることを義務付けます。
グーグル検索では、自社の地図サービスが上部に表示されますが、利用者が他社のサービスも選びやすくすることなどを求めます。
政府は、これらについて必要な法制度を検討する方針ですが時期は未定だとしています。
