イギリスの製薬大手「アストラゼネカ」は、新型コロナの発症を抑える抗体カクテル療法について厚生労働省に承認申請しました。　
British pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca applied for approval from the Department of Health, Labor and Welfare for an antibody cocktail therapy to stop the new strain of coronavirus.
アストラゼネカの抗体カクテル療法は2種類の抗体薬を筋肉注射で順に投与するもので、感染した人の治療のほか、予防にも使うことができるということです。　
AstraZeneca's antibody cocktail therapy is an intramuscular injection of two antibody drugs that can be used not only to treat infected people but also to prevent the virus.
試験では、ウイルスにさらされる前にこの薬を投与したグループは偽薬のグループより新型コロナを発症するリスクがおよそ8割減少したということです。
Studies have shown that the group given the drug before exposure to the virus had an approximately 80% lower risk of developing the new strain of corona virus than the placebo group.
ワクチンを接種しても効果が十分に得られない人などが対象で、承認されれば予防のための抗体薬は国内で初めてです。
The subjects used are people who have been vaccinated but have not received it effectively, if approved, this will be the first anti-disease antibody drug in Japan.
欧米などでは、すでに使われていて、アストラゼネカは審査期間の短い特例承認を求めています。
It is already in use in Europe, the U.S., and elsewhere, and AstraZeneca is seeking special exception approval for a shorter review period.
