アメリカのインド太平洋軍は24日、北朝鮮の弾道ミサイル発射を受けた声明で、韓国が主張する呼び名の「東海」を意味する「イースト・シーに発射された」と表現しました。　
In a statement following North Korea's ballistic missile launch, the US Indo-Pacific Army on the 24th termed "The missile launched in the East Sea" means "Tokai", the name which South Korea still insists.
これを受け、日本政府は「『日本海』が国際的に確立した唯一の呼び名だ」として訂正を求めていました。　
In response to this, the Japanese government requested a correction and stated that "Nihonkai is the only international name to be established."
インド太平洋軍は25日、改めて声明を出して「『日本海』または『朝鮮半島の東岸沖』とすべきだった」と訂正しました。　
The Indo-Pacific army issued a new statement on the 25th, corrected that the name should have been "Nihonkai" or "off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula."
アメリカ政府は日本海を標準の表記と定めています。　
The US government has defined Nihonkai as the standard name.
インド太平洋軍は「『日本海』を唯一の承認された表記とする立場は変わらない」としています。
The Indo-Pacific military stated that "Nihonkai is the only approved name and this opinion is not changed."
