CNNによりますと、ガザで8日、空中から投下された支援物資のパラシュートが開かず、地上に直撃したことで少なくとも5人が死亡し、10人が負傷したということです。　
According to CNN, at least 5 people were killed and 10 injured in Gaza on the 8th when a relief parachute dropped from the air failed to open and fell to the ground.
こうしたなか、EUはアメリカ、アラブ首長国連邦などと協力し、地中海の島国キプロスからガザに支援物資を運ぶ「海上回廊」を開設すると発表しました。　
Under these circumstances, the EU has announced it will cooperate with the United States, the United Arab Emirates and other countries to open a "maritime corridor" to transport aid from the Mediterranean island nation of Cyprus to Gaza.
早ければ、この週末にも輸送を始めたいとしています。
