上野動物園の双子のパンダは初めて触れる氷に興味津々です。

ジャイアントパンダは元々、雪深い森や林で暮らしていることから、上野動物園はパンダの本能や多様性を引き出すために双子のパンダに大きなバケツで作った氷をプレゼントしました。

パンダの親子が過ごしている室内展示場のプールに氷が入れられると、まず近寄って来たのは雌のレイレイ。

飼育員によりますと、雄のシャオシャオは最初は氷の音に驚き木の上で様子をうかがっていましたが、しばらくすると氷の上に乗るなどして、初めての感触を楽しんでいたということです。

シャオシャオとレイレイは生まれて8カ月が経ち、2頭とも健康状態は良好で体重は18キロ近くまで成長しています。
