マイクロソフトのインターネット閲覧ソフト「インターネットエクスプローラー」のサポートが今日終了します。
今後も使い続けた場合、ウイルス感染などの危険性が高まります。
「インターネットエクスプローラー」は1995年、「ウィンドウズ95」の発売と同時に提供が始まり、インターネットの普及とともに幅広く使われてきました。
スマートフォンやタブレット端末などの普及、サイバー攻撃の高度化により、安全性などが課題となっていましたが、午前9時をめどにサポートが終了します。
今後はセキュリティーの更新が行われず、ウイルス感染の危険が高まるほか、数カ月後には起動できなくなるということです。
マイクロソフトは「エッジ」など最新の閲覧ソフトを利用するよう呼び掛けています。
