日本ケンタッキー・フライド・チキンは地域の子どもらに無料や低料金で食事を出す「子ども食堂」にオリジナルチキンなどを無償で提供します。
Japan's Kentucky Fried Chicken will provide original chicken and other items for free to the kids' canteens, where local children will be served free or low-cost food.
閉店時に残ったチキンを店舗で冷凍し、フードバンクを通じて「子ども食堂」に届ける仕組みで食品の廃棄を減らし、地域を支援する活動につなげる狙いです。
The purpose of this activity is to reduce the amount of food waste through freezing the remaining chicken at the store and delivering it to the kids' canteen through a food bank, support for community activities.
提供は今月から横浜市で始まっていて、今後は他の地域での展開も検討するということです。
This free food supply activity has been started since this month in Yokohama city, and KFC will also consider expanding in other localities later.
