通信アプリ大手のLINEが官庁や自治体に対してデータの保管などについて実態と異なる説明をしていたことが分かりました。　
LINE, a major communication application company, explained to government offices and local authorities that data storage is different from the actual situation.
親会社のZホールディングスが設置した第三者委員会によりますと、LINEは2013年から18年にかけて画像や動画などのデータを韓国のサーバーに保管していました。
According to a third-party committee set up by parent company Z Holdings, LINE stored data such as images and videos on a Korean server from 2013 to 2018.
しかし、政治家や官庁、自治体に対して「主な個人情報は日本のデータセンターに保管」などとし、「LINEのデータは日本に閉じている」と実態と異なる説明をしていたということです。　
However, they explained to politicians, government offices and local authorities that "primary personal information is stored in a data center in Japan", and "LINE data is closed in Japan", which is different from the actual situation.
今後、原因を調べて再発防止策を検討するとしています。　
In the near future, the parties will investigate the cause and consider measures to prevent this situation from happening again.
LINEは中国の子会社などの技術者が利用者の個人情報を閲覧できた問題などで政府の個人情報保護委員会と総務省から行政指導を受けています。　
Due to problems such as engineers of Chinese subsidiary can see user's personal information, LINE received administrative instructions from the government's Personal Information Protection Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
第三者委員会は9月をめどに最終的な提言をまとめる方針です。
The third-party committee advocates making final recommendations by September.
