元日から昨日までに東京都内で餅を喉に詰まらせ、男女16人が救急搬送されました。

昨日午前11時半ごろ、東京・大田区の82歳の男性が自宅で雑煮を食べた際に餅を喉に詰まらせました。　
Around 11:30 a.m. yesterday, an 82-year-old man from Ota Ward, Tokyo, had a mochi cake stuck in his throat as he ate mochi soup at home.
119番通報した家族が電話で対応した東京消防庁の職員から応急措置の指導を受け、背中をたたいて餅を取り除いたということです。　
The family called 119 and was given first aid instructions by the Tokyo Fire Department and patted the back to make the mochi fall.
東京消防庁などによりますと、元日から昨日の午後7時までに、都内では38歳から100歳までの男女16人が餅を喉に詰まらせて救急搬送されました。　
According to the Tokyo Fire Department, from New Year's Day to 7 p.m. yesterday, in Tokyo 16 men and women between the ages of 38 and 100 were rushed to the emergency room with mochi stuck in their throats.
このうち80代の女性4人が死亡しました。
