春の全国交通安全運動に合わせ、女優で元AKB48の島崎遥香さんが横断歩道を歩いている時にも安全確認が必要だと呼び掛けました。
In response to the spring national traffic safety campaign, actress and former AKB48 member Haruka Shimazaki called for safety verification even while crossing the pedestrian crossing.
「道路を横断中でも常に安全を確認しながら横断することをここに宣言します」　
"I declare that I will always check the safety when crossing the road."
警察によりますと、埼玉県内では今年に入り、全国で2番目に多い31人が交通事故で死亡していて、およそ半数が歩行者でした。　
According to police, 31 people in Saitama Prefecture died in traffic accidents this year, the second highest in the country and about half were pedestrians.
警察は横断歩道を歩いている時の安全確認の必要性について、もっと関心を高めてもらおうと埼玉県出身の元AKB48で女優の島崎遥香さんを交通安全広報アンバサダーに任命しました。　
The police appointed actress Haruka Shimazaki, a former AKB48 member from Saitama Prefecture as a public relations ambassador for traffic safety to raise awareness of the need for safety endorsements when crossing pedestrian crossings.
警察はドライバーに道路では歩行者を優先することなどを指導し、事故を減らしたいとしています。
Police want to reduce accidents by instructing drivers to give priority to pedestrians on the road.
