フランスのパリでは事故が相次いでいた電動キックボードのレンタルサービスが8月末で廃止されました。
パリでは8月末で電動キックボードのレンタルサービスが終了することになり、運営事業者が路上から撤去を始めています。
パリでのレンタルサービスが始まったのは5年前です。
二酸化炭素の排出量を比較的抑えられるうえ、公共交通機関のストライキが多いなか、観光のほか、通勤・通学手段としても人気で、
約1万5000台が普及していました。
ところが去年、3人が死亡するなど事故が多発していました。
また、禁止されている歩道を走行するなどの運転マナーが問題となり、4月の住民投票でレンタルサービスへの「反対」が約9割に上っていました。
レンタルサービスは終了しますが、個人で所有する電動キックボードは引き続き利用できます。
