軽自動車大手のスズキとダイハツ工業は商用車の技術開発でトヨタ自動車を中心とした企業連合に加わります。　
Suzuki and Daihatsu, major makers in the production of small cars, will join the Toyota Motor Corporation corporate alliance, which focuses on developing commercial vehicle technology.
トヨタ自動車は日野自動車といすゞ自動車とともに、トラックなど商用車の自動運転や電動化の技術開発を進める会社を4月に設立しています。　
Toyota Motor, along with Hino Motors and Isuzu Motors, formed a company in April to accelerate the development of autonomous driving technology and the electrification of commercial vehicles such as trucks.
この会社に軽自動車を主力とするスズキとダイハツも資本参加すると発表しました。

今後はトヨタを中心とした5社で共同開発を進めることにより、軽トラックを含む物流の分野で車同士をつなぐ通信技術の導入やデータの活用などを急ぐ狙いがあります。
