The Emperor's family attended a violin concert.
天皇皇后両陛下と長女の愛子さまは、昨日午後6時半すぎ、東京・千代田区のホールに到着し観客の拍手に会釈して着席されました。　
The Emperor and Empress and their eldest daughter, Princess Aiko, arrived at the hall in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, after 6:30 pm yesterday and took their seats after nodding to the audience's applause.
ご一家が鑑賞されたのは、世界的なビオラ奏者・今井信子さんの提唱で始まった演奏会です。　
The concert the family attended began under the guidance of Nobuko Imai, a world-famous violinist.
自身もビオラを演奏する陛下はほぼ毎年、この演奏会に足を運ばれています。　
The Emperor, who could play the violin himself, attended this concert almost every year.
皇后さまがご覧になったのは26年ぶりで、愛子さまは初めてです。　
This is the first time in 26 years that the Queen has come to watch and also the first time that Princess Aiko has attended.
ご一家はビオラの音色に聞き入り、盛んに拍手を送られていました。
