According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, Japan will be covered by a high-pressure system, and temperatures are expected to rise on the 25th as well.

The daytime high temperature is expected to reach a dangerous level: 39°C in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, and 38°C in Ichinoseki City, Iwate Prefecture; Fukushima City; Maebashi City; Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture; Kyoto City; and Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture.

Also, in Hokkaido, where record-breaking heat was observed with a high of exactly 39 degrees in Kitami City on the 24th, today is expected to remain extremely hot, with temperatures reaching 36 degrees in Kitami City and Iwamizawa City, and 35 degrees in Sapporo and Obihiro, which is slightly lower than on the 24th but still very intense.

In addition, temperatures are expected to reach 37°C in cities such as Kofu, Fukui, and Tottori; 36°C in places like Sasebo in Nagasaki Prefecture, Yamaguchi City, and Takamatsu City; and 35°C in central Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and other areas, indicating extremely intense heat.

A heatstroke alert has been issued for the following areas, as the risk of heatstroke is extremely high: Ishikari, Sorachi, and Shiribeshi regions in Hokkaido; Abashiri, Kitami, and Monbetsu regions; Miyagi Prefecture; Ibaraki Prefecture; Tochigi Prefecture; Gunma Prefecture; Saitama Prefecture; Tokyos 23 wards and Tama area; Chiba Prefecture; Kanagawa Prefecture; Nagano Prefecture; Yamanashi Prefecture; Shizuoka Prefecture; Aichi Prefecture; Mie Prefecture; Niigata Prefecture; Toyama Prefecture; Ishikawa Prefecture; Fukui Prefecture; Kyoto Prefecture; Hyogo Prefecture; Hiroshima Prefecture; Shimane Prefecture; Tottori Prefecture; Kagawa Prefecture; Yamaguchi Prefecture; Nagasaki Prefecture; Saga Prefecture; and Kumamoto Prefecture.

Temperatures have remained high, and not only are more people being taken to the hospital for heatstroke, but there have also been a series of cases in which elderly people and others have died on suspicion of heatstroke.

On the other hand, in Okinawa and Amami, rain clouds developed by Typhoon No. 7 are moving in, making the atmosphere extremely unstable.

The wind is also getting stronger, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed in the three hours up to 5 a.m. was 20 at Kitadaito Airport in Okinawa Prefecture.

There is a risk of heavy or very heavy rain accompanied by thunder in the Amami region through the afternoon.

The sea is expected to be stormy with swells.

The Japan Meteorological Agency is urging people to be extremely cautious of landslides, as well as to watch out for flooding in low-lying areas, rising and overflowing rivers, and to pay attention to strong winds, lightning, and severe gusts such as tornadoes.
