Due to the ongoing earthquakes near the Tokara Islands, people who had evacuated from Akusekijima and Kodakarajima in Kagoshima Prefecture are gradually returning to the islands as the number of relatively strong tremors has decreased.

On the night of the 1st, a ferry carrying five people departed from Kagoshima Port, and in effect, everyone who had evacuated returned to the island.
トカラ列島の悪石島や小宝島の付近ではことし6月21日から地震活動が活発になり、7月3日には悪石島で震度6弱の激しい揺れを観測したことから、希望した一部の住民が島外に避難していました
Around Akuseki Island and Kodakara Island in the Tokara Islands, seismic activity has become active since June 21 this year, and on July 3, strong shaking with a seismic intensity of lower 6 was observed on Akuseki Island, so some residents who wished to do so evacuated off the island.
十島村では「震度4以上の地震が5日以上発生しない」ことを住民が島に戻る目安にしていて、7月17日以降は震度4以上の揺れを観測する地震が発生していないことから、順次帰島が続けられていました
In Toshima Village, residents use no earthquakes of seismic intensity 4 or higher occurring for five or more days as a guideline for returning to the island. Since no earthquakes with a seismic intensity of 4 or higher have been observed since July 17, residents have been gradually returning.
そして、1日午後11時ごろには、悪石島と小宝島から鹿児島市に避難していた住民5人を乗せたフェリーが島に向けて出発しました
And around 11 p.m. on the 1st, a ferry carrying five residents who had evacuated from Akusekijima and Kodakarajima to Kagoshima City departed for the islands.
フェリーは2日午前9時すぎに悪石島に、午前11時前に小宝島に到着する予定で、これで、自身の都合で鹿児島市内に残る1人を除き、避難していた住民の全員が島に戻ることになりました
The ferry is scheduled to arrive at Akusekijima shortly after 9 a.m. and at Kodakarajima shortly before 11 a.m. on the 2nd. With this, all evacuated residents will return to the islands, except for one person who remains in Kagoshima City for personal reasons.
十島村は、住民が島に戻ったあとも生活再建や仕事の継続のための支援などに政府と協力して取り組んでいくとしています
Toshima Village says that even after residents return to the island, it will continue to work together with the government to support rebuilding their lives and continuing their jobs.
